I-House E-ssentials #2: May 17, 2006

Hello Applicants,

I am very excited to have received so many Housing Agreements less than 24 hours after I sent the first email. Please note, the Housing Agreement is the second step in the admissions process. Please ensure you read the document throughly. You do not need to remit another $300 housing deposit, because that payment was included with the Application For Residence. The Housing Agreement is also the document where you will rate your room type preference and request early arrival or late departure reservations. If you have difficulty opening the last attachment, I have attached another copy to this email.Once your Application For Residence and Housing Agreement has been processed, you will receive an Acceptance Letter electronically and shortly after the Room Assignment Letter.

Due to the overwhelming questions about room types, I have decided to provide you with a brief description of some of the very special rooms at I-House. All rooms have their own unique layout, high ceilings, beautiful large windows, central light, ceiling fan, campus telephone service, self-controlled radiant heat, fresh air system, newly tiled floors and modular furniture which consists of , a twin size bed, 3 drawer dresser, large bookcase, desk, chair, small cupboard, desk hutch, and wardrobe. I have attached a flier with highlights of the House and picture of an average single room. The common bathrooms have also been renovated and there is elevator access to all floors, except the 11th and 12th floor where the Tower Rooms are located.

Great, what is a Tower Room? Tower rooms have spectacular views. They are located on the 11th and 12th floor of the east wing. These 3 single occupancy rooms which share one bathroom. These rooms tend to be very quiet and provide another great opportunity to establish a small community. Bath suites are very large gracious rooms which are very private. They are 2 single occupancy rooms which share one private bathroom. Each room has 2 windows which face different directions. The bath suites are single sex and have double secured entry. Finally, Suite rooms are very unique 2 room single occupant spaces, think of them as deluxe extra large rooms.

Please know that these rooms are considered special and are few and far from being the norm at International House. Average single rooms are in abundance, however I attempt to assign you to a room which reflects my best efforts to satisfy your requests. If you do not receive your preferred size or type of room, be aware that I will be happy to reassign you if and when the preferred room type and size becomes available...even after you have arrived.

Till next the next email,
