International House serves the University of Chicago and the greater Chicagoland area as a cultural and intellectual center, hosting programs with the goal of advancing cross-cultural understanding and public discourse on community, national, and world affairs. Over 100 public programs involving a diverse array of cosponsors are held and attended by over 35,000 individuals annually.
Beginning with the UChicagoGrad Welcome Party in September and ending with Make Music Chicago in June, the conclusion of another Global Voices Performing Arts and Lecture Series merits a review of the 2016-2017 calendar of events. As we look back on this incredible year, we would like to extend a very special thank-you to all of the I-House residents, graduate students, University and community members, departments, institutions and cosponsors who have made invaluable contributions to International House and the Global Voices Program. We look forward to seeing all of you in autumn when the Global Voices 2017-2018 Series begins anew with the Hyde Park Jazz Festival on September 23, 2017!
Until then, have a wonderful summer! We invite you to enjoy the articles, videos and highlights below from the 2016-2017 Global Voices Performing Arts and Lecture Series.
