The Coulter Lounge
Formerly the East Lounge or the Men’s Social Lounge, the room was renamed the Coulter Lounge in 1989 for former residents Mary Alice and Thomas H. Coulter, AM’35, and honors them for their long commitment to International House. Thomas H. Coulter also served on the Board of Governors at International House from 1960-1990, becoming a Life Governor in 1990 until his death in 2010.

The Coulter Lounge is an impressive room with a view of the historic Midway Plaisance. It boasts high ceilings, handsome oak paneling, leaded glass windows, and a stone fireplace. The Coulter Lounge, with its unique qualities of both an old-world boardroom and a private study, is the ideal room for seminars, recitals, films, and receptions. The Lounge can accommodate fifty guests in a theatre-style or banquet setting and thirty participants for a conference.
