54th Anniversary Spring Festival of Eastern European Dance and Music will feature the finest in Balkan, Eastern European, and Mediterranean dance, music and culture. The festival will include dance workshops, concerts, and evening dance parties with live music. This is one of the largest and most significant festivals of its type and attracts participants from across the US and Canada. Guided by master dance teachers and inspired by virtuoso musicians you will want to dance, sing, and jam all weekend long! Be enthralled by splendid performances of music and dance at the Saturday evening concert, and then enjoy great dancing on a sprung oak floor to exhilarating live music. Bring your family and friends too!
1:00PM – 5:00PM: Dance, music, and culture workshops on the hour with world renowned master teachers, Ventzi Sotirov, Alex Markovic, Galia Miloucheva, and John Kuo.
7:00PM – 12:00AM: Spectacular live music, riveting dance and musical performances, including Balkanske Igre, Kitka, Chris Bajmakovich, Maya’s Lucero Flamenco Group, CCEA, Lyubava Russians, Ruska Roma, Balkanski Ritmi, Alija Dalipovic, Moravac, Gracanica, and Vivanov.
This event is open to the public. Tickets are $10-12.
This event is presented by the International House Global Voices Performing Arts Series, Center for Eastern European and Russian/Eurasian Studies (CEERES), WPHK, and Ensemble Balkanske Igre.
