Join the IOP as it welcomes author JD Vance for a discussion of his best-selling memoir Hillbilly Elegy. “Hillbilly Elegy is the story of how upward mobility really feels. And it is an urgent and troubling meditation on the loss of the American dream for a large segment of this country.” This program will be lead by journalist Alex Kotlowitz. Mr. Kotlowitz is the author of the bestselling books There are no Children Here and The Other Side of the River.

This event is part of “America in the Trump Era,” the IOP’s look at the changes–cultural, policy, media and otherwise–coming under a Trump administration.

This event is free and open to the public with registration. Register here.

Sponsored by the Global Voices Lecture Series and the UChicago Institute of Politics.
