Cultural Sundays | Introducing the Mahabharata: The Times, Places and Characters of India’s Great Epic by Dr. Gowri Ramnarayan

Join International House as we partner with Kalapriya Center for Indian Performing Arts for the Cultural Sundays Series. This program will feature a presentation by Dr. Gowri Ramnarayan on the Mahabharata, the longest epic poem ever written. This ancient poetic text has more than 74,000 verses, roughly 10 times the length of Homer’s Iliad and the Odyssey combined. Scholars from around the world have compared in importance to the Bible, Quran, & ancient works of Greek literature.

Interested scholars will be invited to a new twelve-part reading & discussion series to this ancient Hindu “tale within a tale”.

This event is open to the public with a suggested donation of $15. Registration is required

This program is cosponsored by the International House Global Voices Program and Kalapriya Center for Indian Performing Arts.
