Join the Global Voices Program and the UChicago Institute of Politics for a talk with Pete Souza, a renowned photojournalist who served as the Chief Official White House Photographer for Presidents Ronald Reagan and Barack Obama. He has previously worked as a photographer with The Chicago Tribune as well as a freelancer for National Geographic. Mr. Souza was among the first journalists to cover the war in Afghanistan post 9/11.

Mr. Souza’s documentation of the Obama presidency has earned him praise far and wide on the internet and he is especially known for taking the iconic “The Situation Room” photo during the Abbottabad raid on Osama Bin Laden.

Mr. Souza’s commentaries and subtle critiques of the current administration on platforms like Instagram continue to encourage discussion and debate among over one million of his followers and many more internet users. We await the November release of his new book Obama: An Intimate Portrait.
