[GRAD] Book Club – Everything is Predictable

Tuesday, May 13
5:30PM-7:30PM
Assembly Hall Foyer

Graduate Commons Programs

We’re ending the quarter with a book about probability—ironically, no one saw it coming. In Everything is Predictable, Tom Chivers explains Bayes’ Theorem: a deceptively simple math idea that helps us detect spam, win bets, diagnose illnesses… and maybe even survive grad school. It’s a probability-powered guide to the universe—minus the pop quizzes and plus a few laughs. Join us to talk math, uncertainty, and why your gut feelings are statistically sketchy. We will read a chapter together during the session and discuss it as a group—no homework, just good conversation. Gut feelings are not required.

This event is exclusively for graduate students and postdocs 21+ with UCID. Registration is required: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/book-club-everything-is-predictable-tickets-1357596580919?aff=oddtdtcreator
