Few topics in American life are as polarizing as religion and politics.  And yet the two are intertwined throughout American history in ways that have inspired many of the nation’s greatest successes – and its most troubling excesses.  From social issues to civil rights, from economic policy to international relations, what is the proper role of religion in politics today?  And what can these traditions teach us about our common history – and our future?

Join the Institute of Politics as it hosts the National Review’s Ramesh Ponnuru and the Washington Post’s E.J. Dionne in a thought-provoking dialogue, as part of UChicago Spirit Week.

Free and open to the public with registration.
