The International House chamber music ensemble-in-residence returns with a five part virtual concert series taking place once a month on Sundays through June 2021. The third program will focus on the French Romatic Period and features music composed by Franck, Chausson, Duparc, Fauré, Debussy, Ravel, Poulenc, and Milhaud.

Enjoy this program featuring famous French composers of the music period from the mid-1880s to the late 1930s. Understand how they leave musical conventions of past master composers to usher in the age of modern music. Learn more about the famous French composers you have heard about and how their music influenced each other, reflects news events (World War I), and artwork trends happening during their lifetime. Enjoy selections from past Chicago Ensemble performances performing the composers’ significant compositions that have thrilled audiences for more than a century.
Learn more about TCE performer Andrew Snow, cello. in an exclusive interview. Andrew talks about his career as a sought-after cellist performing in the Chicago area.
Andrew Snow has been a performer for TCE concerts for 20 years. Andrew is a career professional, active in many Chicago area classical music organizations for 25 years. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Cello Performance from Northern Illinois University, where he was a student of Marc Johnson, and completed a Master’s Degree in Cello Performance from the Meadows School of the Arts at Southern Methodist University.
Professional highlights of Mr. Snow’s career include playing the complete Ring Cycle under Zubin Mehta with the Lyric Opera of Chicago, performing with the Milwaukee Symphony under Pinchas Zukerman, and performing with the Chicago Philharmonic conducted by Jesus Lopez Cobos, Sir Andrew Davis, Larry Rachleff, and Scott Speck. He has participated in various festivals, including the Cleveland Institute Festival, Aspen Music Festival, Grand Teton Music Festival, Grant Park Music Festival, and the Ravinia Festival.
