Join International House, the Center for East Asian Studies, the Pozen Family Center for Human Rights, and the Asian Policy Forum as we welcome Ambassador Julie Turner, Special Envoy on North Korean Human Rights Issues at the U.S. Department of State. How does the U.S. protect and promote human rights and democracy in East Asia? What is the current state of human rights in the DPRK? These are just some of the issues that will be covered. Ambassador Turner will be in conversation with Karl Friedhoff, Marshall M. Bouton Fellow for Asia Studies at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs. Reception to follow the formal program.
