Learn new ways to engage your students in storytelling, critical thinking, cultural literacy, and digital media learning. Through dynamic presentations, dialogues, and classroom activities, teachers will gain practical and innovative curriculum ideas that guide students to make connections to the larger stories of the world.

The International Education Conference is held annually for K-12 instructors. The goal is to find ways for educators to incorporate international content into their courses. This year’s conference is entitled Sensing Place, Sharing Stories: Global Literacy in the 21st Century Classroom, featuring Don Belt, Professor of Journalism at the University of Richmond and former Senior Editor at National Geographic.

Light breakfast, lunch, and instructional materials are included.

Keynote address: To Walk the World

Don Belt delivers a call to global awareness, including a summary of his own “journey” via National Geographic to a greater appreciate of the world we share, illustrated with photographs from past assignments, and culminating with an introduction to the Out of Eden Walk project.
