Join International House as we partner with UChicago Presents to bring you this workshop with Shomyo No Kai. Enjoy a rare chance to practice shomyo alongside one of the monks from Shomyo no Kai in a workshop on how to use Buddhist ritual chanting as a form of meditation. The monk will share how his daily practice of this art form, which is believed to have originated in India before entering Japan in the 6th century, informs and enhances his sense of well-being.

Registration is required: $5 | Free for UChicago students
