Reimaginations Discussion Group

Reimaginations takes place every Thursday in the Tiffin Board Room at International House. Thinkers from different countries and disciplines come together in order to reimagine crucial concepts of the human experience. Keep an eye out for topic announcements on our Facebook Group.

Show Me Chicago Trips

International House GRAD Interns organize regular trips to must-see places around Hyde Park and the rest of the city. Past trips have included Lincoln Park Zoo, Shedd Aquarium, White Sox baseball game, theatre trips, as well as various Chicago neighborhoods including Chinatown, Greektown, and Pilsen. This is a great way to explore the city with new friends!

Watch Parties

International House often hosts watch parties for various sporting and music events. Past watch parties have included the Superbowl, Oscars, Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony, Eurovision Song Contest, and in the summer of 2018, we showed live screenings of the FIFA World Cup soccer matches.

GRAD Mixers

Our weekly summer mixers return every Tuesday evening, from 5:30 - 7:30 PM, in the I-House North Garden. Come along to mingle with other students staying on campus for the summer, to meet new faces before school starts, and to enjoy light food and drinks together outside.

International House occasionally hosts graduate mixers and parties throughout the school year as well to celebrate cultural events. Recently, graduate students have come together for Halloween, Diwali, the Lunar New Year, and Mardi Gras.

These events are exclusively for graduate students at least 21 years of age.
