The Chicago Ensemble is known for its eclectic programs that combine masterworks with surprising selections by composers past and present. Join International House for a champagne reception to toast the conclusion of their 85th Anniversary year-long celebration and enjoy a chamber music concert led by virtuoso pianist Gerald Rizzer, AB’62, and members of the Chicago Ensemble. For its 41st season finale, The Chicago Ensemble departs from off-the-beaten-track programming which has been its hallmark, offering instead two towering masterworks of the piano trio literature: Beethoven’s Trio No. 1 in Eb Major, op. 1 no. 1, and Brahms’ Trio No. 2 in C Major, op. 87.

This event is open to the public. Admission to this event is not included in the Alumni Weekend Pass, the Reunion Pass, or the Young Alumni Pass. Tickets will be available for purchase at the door. Alumni: $25. General Admission: $30. Free for UChicago students with valid ID’s.

Co-sponsored by the International House Global Voices Program, The Chicago Ensemble, and the UChicago Alumni Association.
