Launched in 2015, International House and UChicago Global joined forces with the Chicago Consular Corps to expand the Diplomatic Encounters Series to better connect the UChicago community with representatives of diplomatic missions from around Chicago and across the nation. In partnership with the Center for East Asian Studies (CEAS), we hosted HIROSHI TAJIMA, Consul-General of Japan in conversation with Susan L. Burns, Professor of Japanese History and Director of CEAS.
India, the United States and the 2022 G-20 Summit

As part of our 90th Anniversary Celebration event, we organized “India, the United States and the 2022 G020 Summit” in conjunction with the Indo-American Friendship Association, New Delhi on January 10, 2023 at New Delhi in India.
Harsh Vardhan Shringla and Surendra Kumar provided opening remarks to kick off the event. Following which, Harsh Vardhan Shringla delivered a speech about the G-20 Summit in 2022.

Voices of Scientists: Women in Science

On the occasion of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, the Office for Science and Technology of the French Embassy, in partnership with International House, organized a roundtable on the topic of Women in Science. Three women physicists shared their experiences during a roundtable discussion about working in STEM. They also discussed how having pluricultural experiences has influenced their perspectives on the topic.
