Politics, Policy and Pragmatism: An Hour with Gov. Gretchen Whitmer

Monday, October 16
4:30PM - 5:45PM
Assembly Hall

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer – A.K.A. “That woman from Michigan” (according to Donald Trump), “Big Gretch” (coined by the rap group Gmac Cash), or Lil’ Gretch (her recent Barbie Avatar) – has served as Michigan’s 49th governor since 2019, and is widely credited for helping to propel other Democrats in this early purple state.

Join us for a conversation with IOP Pritzker Fellow and former Oregon governor Kate Brown about the policy issues that will animate the 2024 election, women in leadership, and what political lessons both parties can take from Whitmer’s state.
