Back by popular demand, Consort favorite Steve Player with jigs, songs, and antics from Elizabethan England! International House welcomes the Newberry Consort as they revive their Jigs program with new ballads, new hijinks, and even more laughs, brought to you by singers and dancers, our violin band, lute and guitar, pipe and tabor, and bagpipe with costumes by Meriem Bahri.

Steve Player, in the role of Will Kemp, will lead the Newberry Consort in a fully-staged revival of two Jigs from their 2016 program: “Singing Simpkin” and “The Cheaters Cheated”. The concert will also feature dramatic song from Shakespearean plays.

7:30PM: Pre-concert Discussion

8:00PM – 9:45PM: Concert Performance

 

Violin Band: David Douglass, Tim Macdonald, Brandi Berry Benson, Jeremy Ward, with Brandon Acker, lute and guitar, and Dan Meyers, recorder, bagpipe, and percussion.

Also featuring actor/singers: Steve Player, Ellen Hargis, Jeffrey Strauss, Corey Shotwell, Meriem Bahri
