Ronny Edry is a graphic designer based in Tel Aviv who grew up in Paris, France, and has lived in Israel since 1989. Edry teaches Visual Communication at Shenkar College of Engineering and Design and is the owner and founder of “Pushpin,” a prep school for art and design.
In March of 2012, Edry posted a photo on Facebook of him and his young daughter standing behind the bold words, “Iranians, we will never bomb your country. We [heart] you.” The image garnered international attention and took off the campaign “Israel Loves Iran”, focused on alleviating the tension between the long-rivaled countries. It became a catalyst for dialogue between the people of two nations on the brink of war. Now, Edry comes to International House to speak about the political climate that prompted him to create the now iconic image, and about his experience spreading his message over social media.
This event is free and open to the public.
Presented by the Global Voices Lecture Series and University of Chicago Friends of Israel.
